On the move again - Back to Africa!

Welcome back dear readers! Fortunately, my twin brother is on the right track of recovery again. We are confident that his progress will continue and that relatively soon Maarten will embrace freedom once more.

At this very moment, it implies that today I will continue my trip to South Africa. Although I have been four times before on the wonderful continent of Astonishing Africa, it will be my fist time in this Country of Contradictions. I have three months to spend here where I will also visit landlocked Lesotho & Swaziland and to elongated Mozambique.

My friend Jan will pick me up at the end of the day at Cape Town airport. It has been almost 1.5 years ago that we shaked hands, looked each other into the eyes and drunk together a fruity glass of wine. At that time Jan left Holland to start a new life in his beloved Cape Town. His parents were so enchanted that they bought a house of which Jan takes care off. I will check out whether his great stories (see blog link) are exaggerated or that he remained too modest. Anyway, it will be a fantastic reunion!

This trip will not be just for fun. My time as a student is over and I see the coming months as a excellent period to orientate myself on my (job) future. My heart is devoted to developing countries and I hope in the near future to make myself useful in the context of a development organisation. Yes, believe me, soon or later even Hasse will work! This wise man besides me is still doubting it (among others), but one day you will have to see me to believe it.....
